This was not the way we planned to exibit and talk about the Alhambra. Our visit to the Alhambra revealed 'something' quite unexpected. We didn't realise or even know, until it was pointed out.

Showing our pictures of the Alhambra to my Russian friends, Natasha whooped with delight when she saw these graphics. (Natasha, BTW is an excellent artist.) ArtRussian

Irina and Natasha said, floating circles are Angels. Apparently, orbs and Angels appearing in photographs is a popular subject in Russia (and maybe elsewhere - worldwide).

I returned home and ecstatically told Chrissy - but in an email which she never got. Luckily, she didn't.

The next time, I saw her, there I was enthusing about having photographed 'Angels.' Imagine her expression.

Even more Angels...


Even More Angels... I explained and showed her.

We are fascinated.

Neither of us believe this was some Pixel distortion, ice crystal or floating pollen.

These pictures were taken around the area of the Patio de los Leones near 8 p.m. I took the shots. I had walked on ahead of Chrissy. None of her photographs, nor any others of mine, reveal these exceptional mysteries.

That day, weather conditions were calm, warm with no wind. It was not damp. The Alhambra and especially the Nazarid Palaces, are meticulously cared for and are spotless. I was asked to reverse my rucksack, by a Palace guide, to avoid damaging the stucco wall plaster-work.

And then, there's the legend of the thirty-seven beheaded male members of the Abencerrages family. They vowed to haunt the inhabitants of the Alhambra forever. Rivers of splattered blood spread everywhere staining the fountain of the Hall of the Abencerrajes.
