Detailed Cordoba Map

Cordoba lies in the heart of Andalucia, protected by the Sierra Morena and the Subbética Cordilleras.

The agricultural wealth of the surrounding Vegas: wine production, olive oil and citrus harvests, owes to the fertile Guadalquivir River Valley, extending through Cordoba's province.

Historically Cordoba was an important port for the Romans, the Visigoths and Moors of Spain. The Guadalquivir silted-up and ships could no longer pass. However, it remains a city with excellent communications.
